Refund Policy

This Refund Policy explains when DebtDefense ("we," "us," or "our") provides refunds. It is part of, and should be read together with, our Terms of Service and your signed service agreement.
1. Our fees are earned by the work we do
DebtDefense is a document-preparation service. Our fees are earned by preparing and delivering your documents and information — not by the outcome of your matter. Because the value is in the preparation work, most fees are non-refundable once the documents have been prepared and delivered to you.
No fee is contingent on any result in any court or arbitration, and no fee depends on whether you "win."
2. Before we begin work
If you cancel before we have started preparing your documents, we will refund the amount you paid for services not yet performed, less any third-party or payment-processing costs already incurred on your order.
3. After documents are delivered
Once we have delivered your documents (for example, your court-response document or an arbitration package), that service has been performed, and those fees are non-refundable.
4. Staged services
Our standard defense is offered in two stages:
- Stage 1 — Initial Services is earned when your Answer and core documents are delivered.
- Stage 2 — Arbitration & Advanced Services is charged only if and when you choose to proceed to that stage, and is earned when those documents are delivered.
You are only ever charged for a stage you choose to receive.
5. Custom quotes
For smaller matters we may provide a custom written quote. The terms of that quote, including any deposit or non-refundable amount stated in it, apply to those services.
6. Problems with your order
If something is wrong with a document we prepared — for example, it does not reflect the choices and information you provided — contact us and we will correct it. Our goal is to get your documents right.
7. Discretionary refunds
Any refund beyond what this policy describes is at our sole discretion.
8. Chargebacks
If you believe you are entitled to a refund, please contact us first so we can help. Initiating a chargeback without contacting us may result in suspension of your account.
9. How to request a refund
Email us at support@debtdefense.app with your account email and order details. We aim to respond within a few business days.
