Most people sued over a debt never respond. We exist to change that.
Debt Defense Daily reports on debt collection, credit reporting compliance, and consumer protection law — in plain language, for the people these laws were written to protect.
Our mission
Every year, millions of collection lawsuits are filed in county courts across the country — many by companies that bought the debt for pennies on the dollar, and most ending in default judgment because the consumer never answered. Meanwhile, credit reports carry errors that the dispute system routinely rubber-stamps.
The laws that govern all of this — the FCRA, the FDCPA, state rules of civil procedure — are strong on paper. But they only work for people who know they exist. Our job is to close that gap: we translate court procedure, regulatory rules, and industry practice into guides a non-lawyer can act on.
Editorial standards
Legal claims are grounded in statutes, regulations, and published opinions. Where we cite the law, we name it — FDCPA §1692g, FCRA §1681i — so you can look it up yourself.
We report on the law; we don't practice it. Nothing we publish substitutes for advice from a licensed attorney in your state, and we say so on every page.
We correct errors promptly and visibly, with a note explaining what changed and when. Corrections are never silent.
Collectors, debt buyers, and credit repair companies cannot buy coverage, placement, or removal of a story. Ever.
How we’re funded
Debt Defense Daily is published by the team behind DebtDefense.app, a self-help tool that prepares court response documents for people sued over a debt, and ScoreBoost.net, a credit dispute platform. Those products fund this publication — not ads, and not affiliate deals with collectors or credit repair firms.
We label every product mention clearly. Our articles stand on their own: if our tools disappeared tomorrow, every guide would still be accurate and useful.
